Emergency imposed in KMC departments for heatstroke

KARACHI: Emergency has been imposed in health and other relevant departments of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) keeping in view the danger of heatstroke in the city as mercury rose up to 39 C on Wednesday.

Administrator Karachi Sajjad Hussain Abbasi imposed the emergency after forecast of intense hot weather and heatstroke and cancelled holidays of the employees so that instant operations could be executed in pressing situation.

Meanwhile, emergency centres have been established in 42 medical centres where doctors, paramedical staff and medicines are present. The citizens are advised to take precautionary measures in case heat gets intense and contact KMC emergency centres, if health gets bad, where every facility is provided.
