Envoy: (Ambassador of Iran calls on Tariq Fatemi)

ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Mehdi Honardoost, paid a courtesy call on Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi here on Monday.

Tariq Fatemi emphasized Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Iran, and assured him of full support in the discharge of his responsibilities.

He expressed the hope that his presence in Islamabad would help further strengthen the relationship between the two brotherly countries, with both sides continuing to explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Honardoost expressed his strong resolve to work towards maintaining the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation, trade, tourism, energy as well as people-to-people contacts.
