Envoy: (Pakistan calls for promoting cooperation between OIC, UN)

ISLAMABAD: At the United Nations, Pakistan says OIC in cooperation with the United Nations has capability to deal with the longstanding dispute of Kashmir and address security challenges in the Middle East.

This was stated by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi while speaking in the Security Council debate on “Regional Organizations and Contemporary Challenges of Global Security”.

Focusing on the need to address the root causes of conflict around the world, Maleeha Lodhi called upon the United Nations to actively promote cooperation with the OIC in areas such as mediation and conciliation of disputes, peacekeeping and peace building and humanitarian assistance.
