Farhan, Ibrahim enter in tennis tourney final

Karachi: Farhan Mustafa and Ibrahim Iltifat cruised into the final of men’s singles event in 14th Westbury Open Ranking Tennis Championship here at DA Creek Club on Thursday.

Farhan Mustafa found little resistance from Zain Nawab and overpowered him by 6-3, 6-0 score. Ibrahim faced tough resistance from Marib Malik in the first set but he eventually prevailed and recording a straight-set 7-5, 6-2 victory.

In U-17 semifinals, Talha Sohail defeated Bilal Imran by 6-3,3-0 rtd score while Hassan Farooq recovered from a set down to beat Nouman Aftab by 4-6,7-5, 6-3 score.

Zubair Raja clinched U-15 singles title thrashing Rayan Jawad by 6-2, 6-0 score in the summit clash.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Zain blanked Hassan Jamal recording 8-0 win in U-9 climax.

In an U-11 semifinal match, Mohammad Yousuf Haleem defeated Ayan Yousuf registering an 8-2 triumph.

In men’s doubles final, Abdul Rehman and Farhan Mustafa pair defeated the duo of Dawar and Nomi Qamar by 6-2, 6-3 score to claim the event’s title.
