Federal and provincial govt are in close touch on rehabilitation in flood affected areas, Inayatullah

Peshawar: Provincial Minister for Local Government and rural development Inayatullah Khan on Wednesday told Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly that the federal and provincial governments are in close touch on the issue of rehabilitation in flood affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He while concluding the debate on destruction caused by torrential rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly said rescue and relief activities in flood hit areas of Chitral are in full swing in coordination with National Disaster Management Authority and Pak Army.

Inayatullah informed the house that the amount of Rs of 500 million has been announced by Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif during his visit to Chitral and this amount is released.

The minister said that flood caused approximately four billion rupees damages in Chitral.   He informed the House that Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also released one billion rupees for rehabilitation work in Chitral.

The minister indicated that the government can also freeze provincial ADP if needed for carrying out restoration work in Chitral and other flood affected areas.

Inayatullah Khan categorically stated that no politics would be done on the issue of rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood hit areas.
