Islamabad: Minister of State for Housing & Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim has asked Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the matter of fire in Estate office, Islamabad.

The Minister has formally directed FIA to initiate its inquiry regarding the fire incident in Estate Office. The Minister directed to constitute a three members Committee to probe into the matter.

According to the inquiry report of the Committee, the fire incident appeared to be intentional and deliberate by some employees of the Estate Office to hide the illegal allotments and its record.

The Estate Office surprisingly caught fire on 02-03-2014 (Sunday), when the building was closed for two weekly holidays. An FIR was lodged by the Estate Office in Kohsar Police Station.

It is also pertinent to mention, that due to this fire incident a major portion of record related to Government accommodation, office, furniture & fixture, electricity wiring, ceiling and partitioning walls etc. was burnt.
