Five army companies sent to Thar

KARACHI: The Commander Corps 5, Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, met Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan in Governor House to discuss the current situation in context of operation Zarb-e-Azb, contingency measures for holy month of Muharram, and drought situation of Thar.

The governor Sindh praised the role of Pak Army in Zarb-e-Azb and paid tribute to martyrs of army, terming their sacrifices as the great for country. He said that the role of army, rangers and other law enforcement agencies was appreciable in countering possible backlash.

The Commander Corps 5 assured the governor that Pak army would not disappoint the nation as the masses have confidence in Pak army. He said that five companies of Pak army had been sent to affected areas of Thar and all precautionary measures have been taken in view of Muharram.
