Five killed, one injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Five people were killed and one other injured in different violence incidents in the city on Saturday. According Sub Inspector Niaz, two victims, Pervez, 24, son of Ghulam Mohammad, and Kalo, 22, son of Khair Muhammad, were found dead and another Mohammad Ameen, 23, son of Miskeen, injured. They were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) from Haji Shafiq Goth Malir.

He said these persons were kidnapped by unknown accused, and two of them were killed and one was injured and dumped into Malir River.

Separately, a bullet-riddled body was recovered near Suparco road in Baldia Town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for a postmortem examination. Later, the victim was identified as Sultan, 45, Haji Dad.

Station House Officer Saeedabad police informed that a man, Tahir Baloch, 25, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Lyari Chakiwara, was shot dead by unknown armed men. He said that the deceased was driving a van as he reached Musharraf Morr, two unidentified accused signalled him to stop and shot him dead over resistance. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, a bullet-riddled body of man was found from Chakiwara No 2 in Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.
