Five killed, one injured in metropolis

KARACHI: Five people were killed and one other injured in different violence incidents here on Tuesday.

A gate keeper, Imran Bihari, 30, son of Saeed, was found dead in a house at Gulishan-e-Iqbal Block No 7. According to police sources, police arrested a person Iliyas Bihari, who confessed killing Imran with axe, over personal matter.

Police said the accused Ilyas buried the body of Imran in the house where he worked as servant. However, the body was exhumed and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Another unknown person, aged about 25 to 28, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Munawar Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities.

Yet in another incident, a woman, Nosheen, 32, was found strangulated to death in her house in Landhi No. 36 Block C. The body was shifted to a private hospital for an autopsy.

Separately, a man, Anees Memon, 50, son of Mohammad Saddiq, was gunned down by unknown armed men near Hollywood Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13-D. It was shifted to a private hospital. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained yet.

Meanwhile, a man, Tasadduq Hussain, 40, son of Rehmat Ali, was gunned down by unknown armed men near Shisha Gali in Jamia Cloth Market. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained yet.

Furthermore, a youth, Nasir, 27, son of Orangzaib, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Mirza Adam Khan Road. He was brought to CHK for treatment.
