Five KWSB engineers acquitted in electricity theft case

KARACHI: An Anti-Corruption Court acquitted five executive engineers of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) in electricity theft case.

Five KWSB Executive engineers, Mukhtar Ali, Basheer Ahmed Baloch, Mumtaz Ali Magsi, Masoom Ali and Yar Mohammad, were accused of electricity theft.

The judge, Gulshan Ara Chandio, pronounced the verdict after recording evidences, statements of witnesses and final arguments from both sides. Mohammad Arif Sitai appeared on behalf of the government.

According to prosecution, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered electricity theft case against five KWSB Executive engineers.

The Judge remarked that it was a provincial court and this case does not come in its orbit. The court acquitted the accused.
