Five KWSB officers acquitted in power theft case

KARACHI: An Anti-Corruption Court acquitted five executive engineers of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) in an electricity theft case.

Five KWSB executive engineers Mukhtar Ali, Basheer Ahmed Baloch, Mumtaz Ali Magsi, Masoom Ali and Yar Mohammad were accused of electricity theft. Public Prosecutor Mohammad Arif Sitai appeared on behalf of the government.

According to Public Prosecutor, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered an electricity theft case against five KWSB executive engineers. The Judge remarked that it is a provincial court and this case does not come in its jurisdiction. The court acquitted the accused under Section 63 of the Criminal Code.
