Five more fall prey to Karachi violence

KARACHI: Five persons were killed and one other injured in different firing incidents in the city on Thursday.

An 18-year-old youth, Akram, son of Allah Yar, was shot dead by unidentified armed men at Mawach Goth in Baldia Town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

Inayatullah, 60, son of Shakirullh, was killed by unknown armed motorcyclists in Pak Colony. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for a postmortem examination.

A youth, Munawar, 19, was killed by unknown armed men at Dumha Goth along Super Highway. The body was shifted to Baqai University Hospital.

Irfan Haider, 40, son of Wazir Haider, was shot dead by unknown armed men at Shadab colony along Drigh Road. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.

Separately, the seven-day-old bullet-riddled body of a man was found from Cattle Colony in Surjani Town. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

Meanwhile, Hameed, 25, son of Nisar Ahmed, was shot and injured when unknown armed men opened fire on a Bakery shop. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
