Five persons killed and 18 injured in traffic accident in Landikotal

Peshawar: A woman among five persons were killed and 18 other injured when a speedy passenger coach plunged into a deep ditch near Torkham Zaman Saparee area of Landikotal here on Tuesday.

The died and wounded persons included children and women and they belonged to Afghanistan, an official and local sources said.

The sources said that a flying coach bearing registration number 6160 was one the way from Peshawar to Torkham, and while while negotiating a dangerous curve the vehicle went out of driver’s control and fell into a ravine near Zaman Sapary area of Landikotal .

Soon after the incident, personnel of Khasdar force reached the site and rescued the injured as well as shifted the dead bodies to Agency

headquarter hospital.

The injured persons, most of them were from Afghanistan identified as Sher Alam, Sumaira, Feroza, Mohammad, Shahidullah, Rizwan, Tahir, Shakir(driver) ,Siddiq Rahman, Zohaib, Husna , Wahida, Saima, Muhmmad and Dyar Gul.

Hospital sources said condition of 15 injured was serious and they were referred to Peshawar.
