ISLAMABAD: At least six Pakistani pilgrims were martyred in the crane incident at Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday. According to Foreign Office, a team of Pakistani embassy officials visited a mortuary in Makkah on Saturday night.
The team confirmed the deaths through documentary evidence available and identification of bodies by relatives. As many as 36 Pakistani pilgrims were also injured in the incident whose condition is out of danger. At least 107 people were martyred and 238 wounded when a crane toppled over due to strong winds and rains on Friday.
