Food Security: (Punjab, WFP agree to cooperate in food security)

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government and World Food Programme have agreed to cooperate in food security.

The understanding to this effect came at a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and WFP Country Director in Pakistan Ms. Lola Castro in Lahore.

World Food Programme will also extend assistance to the provincial government for meeting nutritional needs, elimination of hunger, training to cope with natural calamities and construction of modern silos for protection of wheat reserves.
