Four cops killed in armed attack

KARACHI: Four policemen were killed in an attack in Manghopir here on Tuesday. Armed men opened fire on a police mobile in Mianwali colony in Manghopir. As a result, two head constables, Soomar Ali, 40, and Ghulam Ali, 35, and constable Munawar Ali, 40, were killed on the spot, while another policeman Ali Nawaz, 40, and a pedestrian were injured.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively. However, injured cop Nawaz succumbed to the injuries.

Law enforcement agencies had reportedly cordoned off the area after the incident. Panic gripped the locality soon after the incident.
