KARACHI: Four people were killed and nine others injured in different incidents in the metropolis on Monday.
According to rescue sources, a man, aged about 65, died at bus stop of bus number 20 in Nawab Colony area of Baldia Town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), where doctors declared that the man had died due to heart attack.
A man, Afzal Khan, 45, son of Habib Khan, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him on Native Jetty Bridge. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities.
According to rescue sources, Liaquat Ali, 45, son of Niaz Ali, died when a vehicle hit him near Gulbai. The body was shifted to CHK for a postmortem.
A man, Ali Manzar, 60, son of Abdul Jabbar, died when he fell from the staircase in Nazimabad. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.
In another road accident, a youth, Shah Rukh, 22, son of Sajjad and a woman, aged about 65, and two other unidentified youth, residents of Surjani Town, were injured when their vehicle was hit by another speeding vehicle at Do Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
A woman, Shabana, 42, wife of Arif, was injured in a road accident near Ship-owners College in North Nazimabad. She was shifted to ASH for treatment.
Ghulam Haider, 48, son of Tufail, was injured when a vehicle hit him in Jailani Centre area of Merewether Tower. He was rushed to CHK for treatment.
In another road mishap, Zafar Rasheed, 46, was injured in Qazafi Town in Landhi. He was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
Yet in another accident, Asghar, 25, son of Tariq was injured when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle in Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi area. He was taken to CHK for treatment.
