Gang War accused remanded to police custody

KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court-III (ATC-III) remanded a suspect, Altaf alias Baba, to police custody till 31 October 2014 in an explosive materials case. Police produced the accused before the ATC-III judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court that the police needed his physical custody to trace his connections and other accomplices. The court accepted the police’s request and remanded the accused to police custody till 31 October with the direction to produce accused on 1st November.

According to the police, the accused was apprehended within the jurisdiction of Kalri police Station on 21October. Police claimed to have seized five hand grenades, one rifle and one Kalashnikov from accused possession.

The police claimed that accused belonged to Shakeel Badshah group of Lyari Gang War.

The case FIR no 299/2014 was registered under Section 23I-A and 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at Kalri police Station.
