KARACHI: Sindh local government department has announced a drive to improve cleanliness in whole Sindh province; however, the ground reality is that the very street behind the Tughlaq House, Sindh Secretariat is blocked due to growing heaps of debris and garbage.
Despite several complaints of the residents of area a big garbage dump over a Nullah behind Tughlaq House, Sindh Secretariat is not being shifted. Not only litter and garbage of the whole area, but refuse of nearby markets, and debris of under-construction buildings are dumped here, in the backyard of Tughlaq House, which ironically houses and local government department.
Sindh Minister for Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced to kick off a clean and green Sindh, by himself sweeping streets. The residents of area have requested the minister to personally visit the Mohammad Hashim Gazdar Road, the street just behind the Tughlaq House, Sindh Secretariat and order its cleanliness. They have also requested the minister to order relocation of this garbage dump as it is a tarnish on the performance of the government regarding betterment of sanitary conditions.
