Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Arts Council arranged a mehfil-e-mushaira to pay tribute to martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar. Female poets of the region paid tribute to the martyrs. Member Punjab Assembly Lubna Rehan Pirzada flanked by Naheed Manzoor was chief guest while famous poetess Fakhira Batool presided over the mushaira. Farheen Chaudhary was guest of honour.
Senior poetess Dur-e-Shahwar anchored the event. Renowned poetess Farkhanda Shamim, Naurin Talat and Farah Deeba recited their poetry and expressed their feelings and emotions for the martyrs of APS Peshawar. Addressing on the occasion, MPA Lubna Rehan Pirzada said that being a woman, the sorrows of mothers of martyred children can be felt easily. It was a tragic incident but they bore it very courageously for which they deserve salutation. She said all nation is with heirs of APS martyrs. Naheed Manzoor said APS indent is national tragedy.
