Gold worth of Rs.15 million looted near Sialkot

SIALKOT: Four unknown armed car riders looted gold, weighing 4. KGs, worth of Rs. 15 million at gunpoint from two Sargodha based goldsmith brothers during a major robbery incident near Motra on main Sialkot-Daska Road here late at the last night.

Reportedly, the two Sargodha based leading goldsmiths Sabir Hussain and Jamil Hussain were on their way to Sargodha after getting 4.6 KGs gold from Sarafa Market Sialkot. When, they reached Motra, Daska tehsil, on main Sialkot-Daska Road, four unknown armed dacoits in a car, stopped their car and made them hostage on gunpoint. Accused fled away after looting the said gold. The worth of the looted gold is stated to be Rs. 15 million.

Motra police have registered a case, with no arrest or clue, in this regard.

Meanwhile, two persons including a local trader Mureed Hussain were shot injured during a main dacoity incident in his shop by three unknown armed dacoits in Daska city’s congested Chungi No. 8 locality on Sunday. Dacoits forced their entry into local trader Mureed Hussain’s shop, made hostage people present there and started looting. As the trader resisted, the accused shot him injured. A passerby Mehmood was also injured during this ambush. Accused fled away. Local traders staged a protest demonstration by blocking traffic on main Sialkot-Daska Road for an hour, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

Two weeks ago, some unknown accused took away Rs.13 million in cash and gold ornaments (worth of Rs. 2.5 million) from the house of Daska based leading rice trader Mohammad Nadeem Karim during a major theft incident occurred in Daska city’s congested Masjid Haji Nawab Din locality here on Sep 02,2015.

Clueless Daska city police are investigating with no arrest, in this regard.

Local traders, jewellers and businessmen have expressed grave concern on dacoity, theft and robbery incidents against them in Sialkot district, alleging the Sialkot police have miserably failed in tracing out the culprits, besides, providing security of life and property to the local traders as well. They urged the Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif and Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera to ensure the early arrest of the accused involved in the above-mentioned major dacoity, robbery and theft incidents occurred in Sialkot district.
