GRADUATION CEREMONY HELD AT PAF FINISHING SCHOOL ISLAMABAD

ISLAMABAD: Graduation Ceremony of the 36th batch of students of PAF Finishing School, Islamabad was held at the Officers’ Mess, Air Headquarters Islamabad. Ms Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

On her arrival, she was received by Begum Shehla Tahir, President Pakistan Air Force Women Association and Patron in Chief of PAF Finishing School; Islamabad. The Chief Guest awarded the certificates to the graduating students.

While addressing at the graduation ceremony the Chief Guest said, “you are well aware that in eastern culture a girl is destined to adapt to a new environment after her marriage.

Many a time she has to face an altogether different world. As the members of progressive nation, we have to remain in step with the march of time. However, It is equally essential, more so for our daughters, to develop in themselves a dignified poise reflecting the aspirations of a Pakistan girl.”

Earlier, the director of the school Mrs. Nasreen Aurangzeb presented a report highlighting the main aspects of the training, which are aimed at transforming young girls into useful members of society. Later, Begum Shehla Tahir presented the crest of PAF Finishing School to the Chief Guest.

The PAF Finishing School was established in July 1996 for girls. It offers various courses in communication skills, languages, management, art of self presentation, domestic science, general culture, cuisine, protocol, art, child care, introduction to psychology and spiritual enrichment.

PAF Finishing School is the first of its kind in Asia, which is a step by Pakistan Air Force towards the promotion of education and literacy in the country.
