Gutter water in 20-bed hospital for 2 months

Pangrio, Sindh: The lone government hospital at Pangrio has been in bad condition after remaining in accumulated gutter water for two months.

The 20-bed health centre was established Pangrio which an aim to provide healthcare facilities to large population of Pangrio and its surrounding areas; however, corruption and lack of maintenance has now pushed this hospital to verge of collapse.

The building’s condition is poor and precarious due to continuous standing of water of leaked water and gutter lines in it and lives of patients and paramedical staffs are in danger. Several cracks have already developed in the structure of hospital building.

Strangely, the hospital that should have been the most hygienic building of the area has remained under gutter water for two months and there could not be a better commentary on the governance in Sindh in general and the performance of the Sindh health department in particular.

District Health Officer Badin Aijaz Ahmed Ursani when contacted told PPI news agency that he has already written a letter to the relevant department to pump out the stagnant gutter water from the hospital and the issue is expected to be resolved soon.
