KARACHI: HANDS, a social service organization, on Tuesday announced that it will organize “National Community Convention” on 26 March 2015 at Sports Complex Karachi in order to seek public opinion and feedback on the “Pakistan vision 2025”.
Addressing a media briefing at Karachi Press Club, HANDS’ Chief Executive Dr Tanveer Shaikh said that the convention is aimed at making sure that common people and persons belonging to social sectors could discuss social issues, find their solutions, initialize the dialogue to raise awareness, and solve the problems facing people regarding “Pakistan vision 2025”.
He said on the eve of convention, the social and political movements would highlight the concept of Pakistan and dialogue would be held on the role of youth and women and their aspirations. He added that Pakistan’s development problems, alternative concepts, and practical steps for development would be the part of convention.
He expected participation of about 5,000 people and representatives of different organizations from remote areas in the convention.
He said convention would discuss the dignity of ordinary citizen, their health, education, poverty, discrimination, sustainable development, social sectors, media, women development organizations, speeches, national songs and theatres to be presented on the occasion.
HANDS’ General Manager Information Communication and Advocacy Bilquis Rehman and General Manager Infrastructure Program Mustafa Zahoor also shared their views on the occassion.
