Peshawar : On the special directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the Health Department has decided to immediately start work on a mega project or strengthening all the District Headquarters Hospitals of the province. The project includes complete renovation, face lifting, provision of medical equipment’s, solid waste management, while wash and repair work etc in these hospitals.
According to rough estimates the project will cost two billion rupees and work in all the hospital will be started simultaneously to be completed in six months period.
This was decided in a meeting held here on Thursday with Senior Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai in the chair. Secretary Health, Secretary C&W and other concerned authorities of both the departments attended the meeting.
The chair directed the authorities of both the departments to finalize work plan on the same within one week time period. He also directed the concerned quarter to start work on the project without wasting even a single day and take all necessary steps to ensure its completion within six months period.
He said that all available resources would be utilized for strengthening the district headquarters hospitals to ensure the provision of quality healthcare facilities to the people at their door steps and there is no shortage of funds for the purpose provided that the available funds are used efficiently and transparently.
