KARACHI: Health Department Sindh has decided to set up eye camps in slums areas of Karachi in collaboration with non-governmental organizations.
Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz said health department Sindh has decided to organize eye camps in outer and slum areas of city where proper healthcare facilities are not available to locals. He said camps will be organized in Bin Qasim, Gadap, Keamari and other slums areas. He said camps will be set up from next week in collaboration with NOGs working for provision of healthcare facilities.
He said eye experts will provide treatment and medicines to people suffering from various eye diseases. He said surgical facilities will also be offered to patients in city’s largest healthcare institutions who are suffering from complicated eye disorders.
Dr Zafar said health department’s mobilizers will visits these areas to inform general public about holding eye camps.
He said aim of planning these eye camps in far-flung areas of city is to provide better eye care facilities to general public residing in the under-privileged areas. He said all necessary eye care facilities and medicines will be provided to general public in these camps free of cost.
