ISLAMABAD: Deserving people are availing medical treatment in private and government hospitals under the recently launched National Health Program (NHP).
According to a senior official, over two hundred patients have so far benefitted from this scheme. Initially the program has been launched in fifteen districts of the country and will be expanded to twenty three districts in the second phase.
Under the scheme, free of cost treatment is being provided to patients suffering from fatal diseases like diabetes, cancer etc.
The card holders can get free medical treatment and medicines up to three hundred thousand rupees at the designated public and private hospitals. If needed, additional funding will be provided by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
