HEC: (HEC releases Rs 500 million for less developed areas)

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has released Rs 500 million under the Prime Minister Fee Reimbursement Scheme for less developed areas.

According to an official of HEC, the payment is being made to the students of last financial year along with the newly enrolled students of Fall-2014 and Spring-2015.

A grant of Rs 1.50 billion has been released to HEC so far under the scheme. The scheme was started for MA, MS, MPhil, and PhD students of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA. Later it was expanded to Interior Sindh and Southern Punjab.
