HEC to refer fake degrees for legal investigation

Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan will refer all the fake degrees, confiscated during the attestation process, for legal investigation to the relevant authority.

HEC has taken the decision to eliminate the menace of counterfeit educational documents, which is one of the major causes of corruption in the society.

HEC, on average, attests 600 documents daily at its Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar offices. The step will help deter corrupt elements in the society, as verification of educational documents is now mandatory for higher studies, employment within the country and abroad, visa processing, etc.
