Heroin smuggling attempt foiled

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence has foiled a major attempt of smuggling heroin to Canada during a special checking at General Post Office (GPO) here.

According to the details, a Fatehgarh-Defence Road Sialkot based accused Rashid booked a parcel at GPO carrying the dental surgical instruments for Canada. When on a tip off, Customs Intelligence officials started special checking of the consignment, they detected a half KG fine quality heroin worth millions of rupees from the parcel, which was secretly packed in the dental surgical instruments. Thus, the Customs Intelligence foiled a major attempt of smuggling heroin to Canada from Sialkot.

Meanwhile, Collector Model Customs Collectorate has formed a special committee led by Deputy Collector Customs Sadak Afzaal to ensure early arrest of the accused Rashid in this regard.
