IG orders night patrolling to check crime

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on Saturday chaired a high level meeting in Central Police Office for reviewing law and order situation and issued necessary instructions.

In meeting Additional IG Crime branch, DIG Headquarters Sindh, Zonal DIGs Karachi, DIG Training, DIG CIA, District SSPs Karachi, AIG Operations Sindh and other officers participated.

He instructed the police officers to make a schedule for night patrolling for protection of life and property of people. The DIGs, SSPs, SPs, DSPs would ensure police patrolling specially in night in their relevant areas.

Jamali said supervisory officers should ensure the presence of personnel according to police deployment and keep them alert during duty. The police officers and cops would not just sit in mobiles but remain vigilant and take all-out steps for the security of citizens, also ensuring their own security, he said.

He said intelligence system to be made more coherent and effective on police range, district and police station level for successful crackdown on criminal groups attacking police.

Sindh Police chief also visited Command and Control Center and reviewed available videos recordings of attacks on police mobiles in the city. He asked to ensure capturing the involved criminal groups and elements through their identification.

He said DIGs Zones, district SSPs and SDPOs are responsible to ensure the act of briefing regarding the duties to relevant police officers and personnel; however, SHOs should take every possible step for their presence and patrolling in their areas.

In meeting, IG issued more instructions and reviewed progress of investigation in cases of police martyrs of this year so far.
