KARACHI: Inspector General Police Sindh Iqbal Mehmood on Tuesday put the police on red alert in the province and directed them to ensure security arrangements including deployment of police commandos for security of high profile personalities, airports, railway stations, prisons, government offices and other important buildings.
He directed to prepare contingency plans at provincial level for deployment of special police troops and other police contingent at sensitive and important installations and public places including mosques, shopping centers and others places.
He ordered to ensure snap-checking, picketing, mobile and motor cycle patrolling, pickets at entry and exit points of the city and check on suspicious person and activity.
He said that the concerned SSPs should visit their respective police stations and ensure deployment of police force and presence of SHOs in their area.
He called to raise intelligence network and ordered police officials to devise joint strategy with other intelligence organizations in order to avert any untoward incident.
He said that newly activated Madadgar-15 centers should swiftly perform their duties and share any information received by them with other security organizations so that action could be taken in less time period.
