IGP activates Sindh Police Sports Deptt

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali while deciding to activate Sindh Police Sports Department, has appointed DIG SRP as focal person of the department.

Presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office here on Thursday, he instructed officials to compile a list of the persons appointed on the basis of sports and make their teams. He instructed them to ensure their participations in national and international sports competitions.

Jamali said that officials should remain in contact with Sindh Sports Board and take every possible step to celebrate Sindh Sports Day.

Additional IG Traffic Khadim Hussain Bhatti, Additional IG Special Branch AD Khuwaja, Additional IG Karachi Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar, Additional IG CTD Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, DIG Headquarters Abdul Azeem Jafri, DIG SRP Asif Shaikh, AIG Operations Iqbal Dara, and AIG Finance Javed Mahar were also present at the meeting.

The meeting was held regarding the SRP in which IGP Sindh said reforms in Sindh police department should be made as people-friendly and modern force. He instructed the police that effective measures should be taken for public relations and bring such reforms in police stations level which ensure the full cooperation with citizens regarding their basic rights.

It was also decided in meeting that Sindh Reserve Force should be made most efficient, and well trained, which should be capable of taking timely action to cope with any emergent situation. The meeting also decided to provide the required funds to SRP for SRP building, office repairing and the funds required in account of arms and ammunition. In this regard, he instructed DIG SRP to immediately furnish the recommendations.

Asif Shaikh, while briefing in meeting, said Anti Riots Squad consisting of 100 cops is being prepared, which will be available to Sindh Reserve Force this month.
