IGP orders beefing up security on Aug 14

KARACHI: Inspector General of police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on Monday instructed police to adopt exceptional measures for protection of life and property of people in Sindh especially in Karachi on the eve of Independence Day.

He said the law enforcers should take measures on police stations level. They should remain in contact with schools, colleges and other educational institutes which hold special events on Mazar-e-Quaid, entertainment venues and other public places on 14th August 2015.

Jamali said strict measures should be taken for the security of sensitive installations, airport, railways stations, bus terminals, main flyovers, under bypasses, five star hotels, food chains, embassies, residents of ambassadors, main government and private buildings, roads and shopping centers. He asked that patrolling of police should further be beefed up.

He instructed the police officers to adopt workable strategy for free flow of traffic.
