Importance of information technology is widely accepted, Minister

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education, Mohammad Atif Khan has said that importance of information technology was widely accepted adding that education and information technology were indispensible for each other. Any sector without information technology cannot grow therefore the PTI provincial government would establish IT Labs in all government schools in the province.

These views he expressed while presiding over a briefing at a local hotel in Peshawar regarding establishment of IT Labs in government schools. Senior Minister for Information Technology and Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai, Officers of Education Department, Country Director Oracle and others also attended the briefing.

The Education Minister said that 379 IT Labs have been established in government schools and added that the number would rise to 840 till June 2016. He said that establishment of IT Labs in government schools aimed at promoting the trend of teaching and learning through IT. He said that improvement of standards in government schools would attract students to government school which would go a long way in lowering fees in private schools.
