KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s chairman Imran Khan reached Shikarpur on Thursday to condole with the families of Shikarpur’s Shia martyrs who embraced martyrdom due to suicide bombing in their Friday prayer congregation in Lakhi Dar area.
After condolences and meeting with Warisan-e-Shohada Committee (The committee of heirs of Shikarpur’s martyrs), he addressed a media conference where he announced his support to the Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS) Long March from Shikarpur on Sunday February 15 that was announced by the heirs of the martyrs.
He said that people were being brutally killed on sectarian basis, why police was unable to apprehend the culprits? He said that nowhere in the world see such miserable conditions, what I witnessed in Interior of Sindh.
All the leaders who had previously visited the blast site had addressed the media within the premises of Imambargah but Khan is advised otherwise, in the wake of security reasons. Earlier, he shared condolence at the Shikarpur Imambargah where PTI leaders recited Soora Fateha. Allama Maqsood Domki, head of the Heirs of Martyrs Committee who is an eminent official of the MWM and some other Shia scholars were also present.
The 72 Shia Muslims were martyred and many wounded in the suicide bombing whose responsibility was claimed by a takfiri terrorist group Jund-ush-Shaitan.
