Indus River’s flood position

LAHORE: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 353500 cusecs and Outflows 352800 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 72200 cusecs and Outflows 72200 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 48500 cusecs and Outflows 36800 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 99000 cusecs and Outflows 77900 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 693200 cusecs and Outflows 393200 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 457400 cusecs and Outflows 453600 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 515000 cusecs and Outflows 512000 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 121400 cusecs and Outflows 114400 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 685400 cusecs and Outflows 665600 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 698400 cusecs and Outflows 647300 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 552600 cusecs and Outflows 522500 cusecs.

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1550.00 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 6.434 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla: Minimum operating level 1040 feet, present level 1237.60 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 7.057 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 642.00 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.073 MAF. The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
