Indus River’s flows

LAHORE: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 115800 cusecs and Outflows 115400 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 22500 cusecs and Outflows 22500 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 16500 cusecs and Outflows 35000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 42800 cusecs and Outflows 11500 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 163800 cusecs and Outflows 156300 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 188100 cusecs and Outflows 180000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 155300 cusecs and Outflows 131000 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 36500 cusecs and Outflows 20900 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 161000 cusecs and Outflows 151700 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 155400 cusecs and Outflows 97700 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 208500 cusecs and Outflows 173600 cusecs.

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1550 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 6.434 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla: Minimum operating level 1040 feet, present level 1241.20 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 7.341 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 647.70 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.228 MAF. The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
