Indus River’s position

KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 72400 cusecs and Outflows 140000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 15400 cusecs and Outflows 15400 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 15900 cusecs and Outflows 55000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 30600 cusecs and Outflows 9000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 179300 cusecs and Outflows 171000 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 166400 cusecs and Outflows 115800 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 140900 cusecs and Outflows 119800 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 17500 cusecs and Outflows 1700 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 120400 cusecs and Outflows 93800 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 87700 cusecs and Outflows 32200 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 44200 cusecs and Outflows 11300 cusecs.

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1523.38 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 4.964 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla: Minimum operating level 1040 feet, present level 1230.15 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 6.480 MAF.

Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 644.80 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.135 MAF. The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
