Hyderabad, Sindh: Inspector General of Police Sindh Iqbal Mehmood has directed Police to start inspection of arms shops/dealers to sell of illegal weapons/ammunition. He directed DSPs, SHOs to adopt zero tolerance towards crime.
This he said while presiding over a high level meeting of SSP’s and DSP’s of Hyderabad region at Shahbaz Hall Hyderabad today reviewing the law and order situation of Hyderabad Division. Among others DIG Hyderabad, DIG Crime Hyderabad, SSPs of all districts and DSPs attended the meeting. IG Sindh reviewed district wise crime situation with reference to Police performance.
He also apprised himself of the ongoing investigation of registered cases and directed to accelerate the pace of investigation for logical conclusion of cases.
He directed to re-activate highways patrolling check posts for curbing highway crimes. He further directed to speedup anti dacoits operation specially in the Katcha Areas.
“Campaign against arrest of absconder and proclaimed offenders be intensified and also ensure arrest of the nominated criminals in registered FIRs”. He asked DIG Hyderabad to appoint separate DSP Investigation for early disposal of cases.
He also directed to hold regular meetings at district level ensuring presences of Divisional, Crimes, CID Officers for bringing significant improvement in law and order and investigation.
Iqbal Mehmood said that different welfare project for Police are underway and “Special emphasis is being given to the families of Shaheed Police personnel and in this regard 300 acers of land has been identified for allotting plots to the Shaheed’s families” he observed.
He further said that 1st ever Police Cadet College has being constructed for which the relevant paper work was being done at an accelerated pace.
