LARKANA: The first International Urological Symposium was held in Lecture Hall of Chandka Medical College, Larkana, under the auspices of Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS) in which renowned urologists of United Kingdom took part and shared their latest experiences & inventions in the field. Prof: Malik Hussain Jalbani, told PPI on Wednesday that Prof: Christian Bash, prof: Peter Neil Noor Buchholz, Prof. Guzanfar Chaudhry of London and 40 other professors including Dr. Nuzhat Faruqi, Dr. Aziz Abdullah, Dr. Raziuddin Biyabani & other well known urologists of the country also participated.
Prof: Bash delivered lecture latest technology on robotic urology according to which laparoscopic Urethra has become very easy which is even available in Iran but it has not yet been introduced in Pakistan. He showed the audience video surgeries through this modern procedure. He said Pakistani doctors can be trained in England through scholarship programs. The guests were offered lunch at Moenjo Daro where they also visited the world heritage site. Prof: Bash further said that Transobturator Tape which is procedure for stress incontinence should also be introduced.
Prof: Jalbani told the participants that major urology diseases found in upper Sindh & Balochistan include stone diseases, female incontinences, cancer including prostate, urinary bladder, kidney and congenital problems. He said that most modern equipment & instruments have been procured in the Department of Urology of Chandka Medical College Hospital which are being installed for the benefit of the poor patients. He said that transplantation can also be started here if the government provides relevant requirements. He said that as many as 25 female patients arrive monthly with the complaint of incontinence urine who require Tapes which are not available & are costly adding that if the Sindh Government provides the same could also be given free of cost to the ailing needy patients. He said that the above symposium was first of its kind in Pakistan and the junior doctors have learnt the most and seniors will acquaint themselves with latest inventions, developments and trends in the field of urological surgeries.
