Investments in KP minerals sector to open new corridors of opportunities to CAR, CM

Peshawar: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that the PTI led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has spread to the investors a Red Carpet and bid farewell to the conventional Red Tape; and it is now the turn for reciprocation with new ambitions led by zeal and vigour to contribute in the minerals sector.

While addressing the “KP Mineral Conference and Exhibition 2015” in Islamabad today he said that investments in the KP minerals sector will definitely open new corridors of opportunities to the region including Central Asian Republics, South Asia and the Gulf with further linkages to the whole world.

The PTI chairman, Imran Khan, Provincial Minister for Mineral Development Anisazeb Tahirkheli, and others also addressed on the occasion. The exhibition was opened by QWP Chairman and former Chief Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao MNA. A large number of investors from all over the world participated in the conference and exhibition. Chief Secretary KP Amjid Ali Khan also attended.

The Chief Minister informed that mineral sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the rich natural endowments have been blessed with by nature, awaits input of international community especially in the large scale mining activities and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government assures that they will never be disappointed.

He said that the transparency, ease of doing business, simplified policy and procedures, and legal framework support, coupled with incentives and further facilities for Mineral and oil & gas sectors are positive signals of the Provincial Government to convince all those witnessing today’s Conference.

He said that the new policy regime is further cognizant of the integration of mining sector with overall economic growth and social development especially of the communities directly related to the mining affairs in the field and the overall provincial economy.

The Chief Minister also said that the new plans for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Industrial plans thereof are worthy of playing active role of catalyst in further organizing and exploiting the minerals potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

For example, he added, with the ever growing demand for shouldering the real estate business and construction industry, the vast limestone and gypsum reserves are ready for investment in the Cement Industry to reap direct benefit of investment.

On this occasion the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Imran Khan also visited the stalls of precious stones extracted from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the marble mosaic and other products and hoped that such treasures would definitely attract local and foreign investors and traders and would also bring economic stability to the province.
