Islamabad: “Cyber crime bill 2015 is being thoroughly reviewed in order to make consistent with National Action Plan (NAP) so that is could cater the growing needs of drastically changing & challenging scenario in the wake of increasing terrorism phenomenon in cyber space, Said Ms. Anusha Rahman, State Minister for IT & Telecom.
The State Minister for IT was chairing the 2nd session of the “Bill Review Meeting” here in Islamabad on Tuesday.. Special Assistants to the Prime Minister Khawaja Zaheer Ahmad, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Maj ® Tahir Iqbal, Federal Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ali Ranjha, Member Telecom Mr. Mudassar Hussan and Member Law Ms. Ameena Sohail and other IT & legal experts were present in the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention here that this “Special Review Committee” was constituted on direction of the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom, comprising of technical and legal experts and MNAs. This committee is mandated to review the proposed prevention of electronic crimes bill 2015.
