Italian ambassador visits Indus Valley School

KARACHI: Italian Ambassador Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani and Elena Claudia Di Vito, the First Secretary at the Embassy of Italy in Islamabad along with Giulio Iazeolla Vice Consul, Consulate of Italy Karachi, visited The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

The visit was coordinated by Italian Development Committee (IDC) the members present in the visit were Cav. Dr. Tariq Ikram+ADs- President IDC, Amnah Gul Muqri+ADs- Secretary General and Hasan Askari Founder +ACY- Executive Member.

The visit was hosted by Samina Raees Khan, Executive Director of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

Khan welcomed Cianfarani, Elena Di Vito, Iazeolla and IDC members. The ambassador was introduced to different faculties and students at the campus. During the visit Khan highlighted the salient features of each faculty which made the visit quite informative and impressive. The students of the Architecture Department gave a presentation to the Ambassador where they talked about the historical architecture of Pakistan and other related study trips.

Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani appreciated the efforts of students and said that Pakistan and Italy, both countries share rich cultural heritage and is paradise for the admirer of art and architecture. He appreciated that enthusiasm of students for Art at the campus shows the real image of Pakistan. The students were encouraged to go on study trips to Italy in future.

Khan paid the vote of thanks, saying that Indus Valley looks forward to have a Memorandum of Understanding with IDC to promote educational cooperation with Italian institutions in the field of Architecture, Interior Design and Fine Arts.
