KARACHI: Italian guitar Maestro Carlo Ambrosio has delighted hundreds of Pakistani music lovers with his live performances in the capital Islamabad, cultural hub Lahore and the financial hub Karachi last week.
After performing both in Islamabad, on the occasion of a fundraising event co-hosted by the Italian Embassy, and in Lahore at Avari Hotel, Maestro Carlo Ambrosio’s final stop was Karachi where he entertained some 250 Karachites over the weekend.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Italy, Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani expressed his pleasure to host an Italian musical event in a city having a vibrant cultural scene as Karachi. “A city very dear to a country like Italy having the culture in its DNA. A city which is also a very important hub for the Italian economic interests in this country,” he said.
Maestro Carlo Ambrosio is a renowned guitarist, lutanist and composer who has toured the world intensively since the 1970s by giving concerts in the major halls all over the world. Pakistan is a new destination for him. Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi were the three halts of his Pakistani tour.
The concerts of the Italian guitarist in Pakistan are a unique event which confirms the importance Italy attaches to promoting cultural exchanges with Pakistan.
