JI announces Jalsa in Karachi

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami general Secretary Liaquat Baloch on Wednesday announced that his party would hold a big public gathering in Karachi on April 12, 2015 in connection with the by-polls on NA 246.

Talking to media, Baloch said that JI Pakistan chief Siraj-ul-Huq would address to the Jalsa. He, however, termed holding a free and fair election on NA 246 a big challenge for concerned authorities.

Baloch said that it would be a big challenge for the federal and provincial governments, and Election Commission of Pakistan to hold a free and fair election on the constituency.

He urged MQM and PTI leaderships to resolve their issues amicably according to the democratic norms. He said, ”Peace in Karachi is imperative as the people of Karachi have already been deprived of their basic rights.”

He further said that the leaders and workers of JI have always laid their lives for peace in Karachi’ on the other hands those who claim owning the mandate of Karachi have given the citizens gunny bag-packed bodies, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.

On the occasion JI’s candidate for NA 246 Rashid Naseem, JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and Karachi general Secretary Abdul Wahab were also present.
