JI ex-MPA drowns while saving a student

KARACHI: Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi ex-MPA Nasrullah Shaji drowned into river Kunhar in Balakot, Mansehra, while rescuing a school boy on Monday.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh chapter Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui told PPI that a schoolboy, whose body was later recovered, drowned in the fast-flowing river and Shaji dived after him to save his life; however, Shaji was still missing. The rescue teams are searching for him.

Shaji, who was also the principal of Usman Public School in Karachi, along with his students, was on an ‘all Pakistan tour’ for educational purpose.

Siddiqui said that the incident shows how brave, loving and caring the man he was.
