JI grieved over flood havoc in Bosnia

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has expressed deep grief over the large scale destruction caused by the floods in Bosnia and has appealed to the Pakistanis as well as the world community to extend every possible help to the calamity-hit people.

According to reports, almost 25 per cent of the Bosnian population has been badly affected by the floods and around one million people were lying in open places, awaiting prompt relief.

Under the instructions of the JI chief, the President, Al-Khidmat Foundation, Dr Hafizur Rahman, and JI Foreign Affairs wing chief, Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, called on the Bosnian ambassador in Islamabad on Thursday and presented a sum of Rs 2 million as initial amount for relief.

They assured the envoy that Al-Khdmat Foundation would continue its relief work till the rehabilitation of the affected families and also set up an effective net work for the supply of essential items in the flood hit areas.
