KARACHI: The main issue of the country is non-implementation of law and justice in its true spirit, adding that the law is only exercise on the downtrodden and poor people while the elite class is getting immunity from courts of justice.
This was stated by newly elected Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Chief, Siraj-ul-Haq, on his first arrival at Karachi Airport after becoming JI Pakistan chief.
Thousands of party workers, children and people belonging to different walks of life including doctors, lawyers, engineers, traders, teachers, students and labourers welcomed their great leader in Karachi.
The entire leadership of JI, including Central Naib Ameer JI Asadullah Bhutto, JI Sindh Chief Dr Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and JI Karachi General Secretary Abdul Wahab, were also present on the occasion.
The workers raised party flags and chanted slogans in favour of JI Pakistan Chief. They showered rose petals on JI Pakistan chief on his arrival and presented flower bouquets and gifts to him.
Addressing the gathering, Siraj said that JI wanted to eliminate VIP culture and introduce the culture where down-trodden and poor people could get special facilities in hospitals, educational institutions and courts.
He said that the government had failed to provide relief to the masses and did not fulfil its promises made before elections.
He urged the PML-N government to implement its party manifesto and take effective measures in order to eliminate corruption, unemployment and lawlessness from the country.
“Targeted killings, extortion and other crimes are on the rise in Karachi, however; the federal and provincial government have completely failed to formulate an effective strategy in order to provide relief to the people of the city from such menace”, he added.
