JI thinks solving national language problem must for progress of Pakistan

Karachi: Jamaat e Islami (JI) has demanded a ‘Pakistani language” for Pakistan, which should have a flavor of all regional languages of the country.

Addressing a ‘meet the press’ program of Karachi Press Club (KPC) here Saturday evening, Amir JI Karachi Sirajul Haq said only those nation attain progress and prosperity that adopt their own national language, and use it for official purpose, as well as, education.

He regretted that since the independence of Pakistan our rulers have failed to implement our own national language in the country. He said the rulers of still mental slaves of the British and hence they are not ready so say farewell to English. He said we are Pakistanis and we need a “Pakistani language” which may not be Urdu, but to have the flavor of all languages of Pakistan.

He said the dual educational system is the main cause of our backwardness, because in this class-based system the children or the rich and the poor are taught differently. He said there should be a uniform educational system for the children of both poor and rich. He said up to the matriculation there should be no separate “school” or madrisa (seminary) education. He said all students who want to become religious scholars, scientists, or social science expert must learn same syllabus and take same examination up to Matricualtion (Class X). He said after passing Matricualtion, these students should decide to further their education in religious studies or contemporary science and social sciences subjects.

Stressing Pakistani language for Pakistanis, he said Pakistan cannot attain progress and prosperity till its national language is fully implemented at official and educational level.

The coming by-election in NA-246 is a chance for Karachiites to change their fate for good and say No to the terror and violence and began a new era of peace and prosperity, said the JI Amir.

He said Karachi during last 24 years has only seen fire and blood. He said Karachiites gave love and respect to MQM leader Altaf Hussain in last two decades, but what they got in return. He said 24 years ago Karachi faced shortage of water, public transport, jobs and civic facilities and today Karachi also witnesses the same shortage of water, public transport, jobs and civic facilities. He asked what Karachiites got for their love and respect. He said sadly during this period this city has added the words of extortion and gunned-packed bodies to our vocabulary. He said now even the children of remote parts of Pakistan know that extortion and gunned-packed bodies are a thriving business in Karachi. He said the people of Karachi would have to come forward to change this sad scenario.

He said a rally of their candidate on NA-246 Rashid Naseem was attacked in Karachi, but they would not reply in the same currency. He said they would continue to show their love, tolerance and patience. He said they do not believe in replying an abuse with an abuse and a bullet with a bullet. He said his party is utilizing its energies to organize the voters of Karachi to defeat the terror and violence with power of their vote.

To a question, he said Qauid e Azam had asked at least five times the founder of the JI, Syed Abul A’la Maududi to tell the nation through radio speeches about the Islamic system to the Pakistani nation. He said there are at least 114 citations in which Qauid e Azam had promised that Pakistan would be an Islamic welfare state on the pattern of the state of Medina. He said there is not different between the vision of Qauid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the manifesto of Jamaat e Islami.

He asked from the government to dress the wounds of people of Balochistan and embrace them instead of pushing them to the wall. He, however, asserted that the Balochs are not against Pakistan but against the system of injustice and cruel feudalism. He said he has recently visited Turban, Ketch and other parts of Balochistan and witnessed abject poverty and deprivation there. He said he was a primary school which had been running without even a roof for past nine years.

He appealed to the government to listen to the grievances of Balochistan and address them on emergency basis. He said an Islamic and Khsuhhal (Prosperous) Pakistan would give equal rights to the people of all parts of the country.

Jamaat e Islami amir asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to device a mechanism for supervising the intra-elections of the registered political parties of Pakistan and bar the political parties that are not willing to hold their intra-elections.

Senator Sirajul Haq said that it is a hard-luck of Pakistan that its many political parties have become hereditary dynasties. He said their leaders are not willing to hold the intra-parties elections, or sham intra-party elections are held in which the same leaders are ‘elected unopposed’. He said this farce should be ended for good and the Election Commission of Pakistan must form a mechanism for holding and supervising these intra-elections and it should ban the political parties from taking part in general or local bodies’ elections if they have not carried out their intra-party polls in free and fair manner.

He said we need to change out political values and political culture for the sake of our coming generations. He said we should stop the politics of Right and Left and instead start a principled politics of Wright and Wrong.

Siraj regretted that democracy, politics and assemblies in Pakistan have been held hostage by corrupt establishment and spoiled elite class, saying today when man is traveling space for Mars, Pakistani children are scavenging rotten food from the garbage dumps.

The JI leader said the problems of Pakistani politicians and Pakistani masses are different. Pakistani politicians always think for winning elections and maximizing their ill-gotten wealth, while the Pakistani poor masses think about how to purchase wheat flour and lintel, pay electricity bills and school fees, and buy new clothes for children for the coming Eid.

He said he is a common man and his agenda is an agenda of common man. He said it is shame for us that our poverty villagers have to sell either their kidneys or young daughters. He said today every child is under the burden of World Bank and IMF loans. He asked who utilized these loans and whose coming generations would have to pay them. He said corrupt elite class was dominant when Pakistan was formed and Quaid e Azam had to say that only base coins are in his hand, and this corrupt elite class is also dominant in today’s Pakistan.

He said Pakistan is not just braving an armed terrorism but also a social and economic terrorism. He said this corrupt elite class and their rulers are social and economic terrorists of Pakistan. He said if there is rule of law in Pakistan just for one year, the nation would find its political leaders rotting in jails and their palatal palaces being publicly auctioned. He said we need to end the era of personal fiefdoms and political kings and princes and make a new Pakistan based true democracy and the rule of law.

He said Pakistan is under the tight grip of a system that is based on injustice and exploitation. He said the Pakistani banks give loans to those people who are already millionaires and billionaires. He said no bank can give loan to a poor Pakistani to buy a bicycle. He said a common Pakistani when spends his earning years of youth and becomes a senior citizen, he even do not have a few rupees to buy his medicines. He said the government or state does nothing for this senior and loyal Pakistani and allows him to die painfully and miserably. He said in an Islamic welfare state is the responsibility of the state and government to take care of all its citizens, but sadly these Islamic basic principles are only witnessed in the Western societies.
